Assignment #1 - Process so far

Through research on the internet I was able to find tribeca multimedia design firm TODA, located in New York City. They recently collaborated with DesigNYC at the Pratt Manhattan Gallery to connect socially conscious design firms with nonprofits and city agencies. Their goal in all of this was to put design resources where they're needed most, which is in the public sector.

I was lucky enough to speak to Marcos Chavez who is the creative director of visual communication. He was more than willing to talk about the pro bono project which was titled "you are here". In one of his statements he said that with the economy the way it is right now, TODA had been reevaluating what graphic design actually meant to the design firm. The firm then arrived at the idea that their work should revolve less around "slick graphics and more around doing good".

As of right now, I'm in the process of getting a few more questions answered as well as waiting for a few photos of the event.
